One of the highlights of my work is meeting so many lovely brides! Sophie was no exception and I was so pleased when she responded with such enthusiasm and surprise after winning my main competition earlier in the year.
Sophie came to see me at the studio quite soon after, with her mum and sister and we had a browse through pictures of her wedding dress, and talked more about the style and feel of her wedding, which was going to be at the stunning Ocean Kave.
The Headpiece
We had a wonderful time trying on different styles, and all agreed that something at the back of her hair, to frame her veil and echo the details on her dress would be the most suitable. There were many styles that looked great, but there was one in particular which prompted those happy tears, and that was the Harper headpiece. I could tell that Sophie was a lover of sparkle and that she'd fallen for the diamante leaves in the Bluebell piece and also preferred the length of that vine, so I offered to design a bespoke piece to incorporate all of those elements.
The Jewellery
The jewellery needed to compliment the headpiece with some sparkle and pearl. As Sophie was going to be wearing her hair down, a drop earring was more suitable as it showed up more. The Celestia Pearl design was chosen with beautiful sparkly hooks, a single Swarovski pearl and a classic teardrop crystal. A few weeks later, Sophie's husband-to-be contacted me to purchase a matching necklace as a surprise gift from the groom, on the morning of their wedding.
